Picture of Lake Pleasant

It is hot and dusty in the parking lot. The wind blows dust through the windows. It is not as good rolling in the dust. The male rides the noisy machines with his friends. The female wanders off in the big black truck. It is too hot to do anything but sleep.

A bad morning. The humans insist on the pink halter. OK. I'll do it. I like the pine needles very much. Now they cannot remove the thing. They swear. They struggle. I become impatient and hiss and bite. What the hell are they doing? They finally give up and get scissors and cut the pink halter in pieces. I am pleased.

Again, they stuff me in the bag and carry me to the truck. This is getting old. I am annoyed. I will make a lot of noise and they will be concerned. I will stand close behind them in the trailer and they will step on me giving me an excuse to scratch them and yowl.

It is evening. We are in a gravel parking lot. It looks inviting. I would like to explore and roll in the dust, but there is no pink halter.

The male human turns on a noisy machine and begins to search for TV channels. He has a low level of patience. He cannot find "satelights". The female wanders the parking lot looking at her phone. She is looking for "service". I don't know what these things are, but they seem to control the humans' tempers. I plan to lay directly in front of the door so they must step over me. They might trip.

We leave the canyon and drive on bumpy roads. I hate this part. I try to sleep but it is noisy. I shed great quantities of hair.

When the door opens, the air smells different. Humans say "pine trees". It is cooler. I want to chew grass and roll in the dirt. Apparently, I must endure the pink harness in order to go out. The dust here is very nice. I coat myself with dust and pine needles. I chew grass. Later I might spit out some hairballs. I haven't had grass in a long time.

South of Phoenix. The humans now just carry me back and forth to the trailer. They assume I am not going to run. They may be wrong. I have litter and other things cling to my hair. The humans were grossed out.

riding in the desert

The male human cannot access his blog. He wanted to put pictures on my blog. If you don't care about motorcycles just ignore these.

March 17, 2013

The humans hold me down and cut my fur. I must have carried something out of the litter box. I do not like this. I hiss and bite the female to express my displeasure.

March 16

The humans come back talking of flat tires and shopping. They slap at bugs and talk about dry skin. I like that we are not moving. I sit on the table and watch.

March 15

We left the muddy place when it dried out. The humans stuffed me the bag again and we went to a hot, dusty place where the trees look dead but apparently are alive. The humans leave during the day. I watch for the dog. I hear more dogs but cannot see them. I look for hiding places.

This is the dog Biscuit. I will protect my space from her.

Rain. Drips from the vent right above the bed. Too bad humans. I'm going to sleep on the couch.

Tuesday, March 5, 2013

We stayed in a place right off the highway last night. All night there were trains and trucks roaring by. Why do the humans do this? It is so noisy.

There were groups of people who rode in Razers (little 4x4s). This is a very popular sport for older white-haired humans.

We went by thousands of RVs and mobile villages as we drove through Lake Havasue and there were many white-haired humans driving expensive cars.

Today we are east of Phoenix with the male humans friends. They talk about their motorcycles and drink beer.

There are bad cactus's around. Needles that jump off and attach to you.

Lightning, thunder. We are stuck in the mud. The humans play cards.

Breakfast at Peggy Sue's Diner. The waitresses wore 1950's dresses, the walls were covered in 1950s posters. Lake Havasu was lovely but we did not stop. The male human is hot on the trail of his riding buddies. The human female is not so interested in riding buddies and would like to stop and meander. Maybe later. I sleep through most of the day. Now it is sunny and hot. Night is cold.

Sunday, March 4, 2013

It was a long day. Many miles. I was stuffed in the bag many times as the humans went back and forth between the trailer and the truck. We stopped at a Walmart on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. the lines for the cashier were incredible. The human female ran screaming from the store. The human male stayed in the store, but gave up when the bar code on a calendar he wanted to buy didn't register. The 10 scowling people in line behind him scared him.For a while the humans couldn't decide what to do. The wind was howling so that didn't help things. I slept. We stayed at Shady Rest RV Park in Barstow, CA, a classic from 1950. Tomorrow we will go to Lake Havesu. Another long drive. Sigh......

Saturday, March 3, 2013

We are at San Luis Forebay outside of Merced. There are ducks on the lake. It is warm. My female human needs to walk around because she is stiffening up. The male human begrudingly says ok they will stop for the day after only two hours of driving. They drink beer and leave me inside.

Sat around with Tom on the steps. Can't find the pictures...will try later.

Thursday Feb. 28 - Saturday, March 2

The trip to Bodega Bay made my head hurt. The highway was rough and I looked like a bobble-headed cat. We drove through giant trees, really giant and road curved around through them. The human female was holding her breath.

There were vineyards and tasting rooms everywhere around Hopland. The humans are impressed by the acres and acres of vineyards.

The humans misread me and thought I wanted to go out. They strapped me into a pink harness and took me outside. I ran back up the trailer steps so they would understand that NO, I DON'T WANT TO GO OUT.
